Biography is basically the be-all and end-all of historical narratives on television today. The show has been running for 15 years mostly owing its huge popularity to history buffs and students of the arts. Virtually every noteworthy individual of the last two millennia has been the focal point of an episode or two. Whether it's Hannibal, JFK, Big Bird or Himmler--it's always worth watching. It's easy to channel surf and stumble upon an episode and instantly forget anything else you were watching beforehand. The production value is really that well done. If you don't have cable, your local library probably contains a whole section with Biography tapes on various subjects.
