The singer leaves the isolated settlement of
Arouanne in the Sahara desert and heads south to the legendary city of
Timbuktu, where he reflects on traditional and current methods of
education - largely believed to be a key to Africa's success. He travels
by river to the cosmopolitan port of Mopti and the largest mud building
in the world, a mosque in Djenne. His journey ends in Mali, home of the
Dogon people, where he encounters a modern-day tribe of slaves trying
to break free from their chains through learning
