In the village of Lekhani in Nepal, Michael watches potential Gurkha recruits being put through their paces. He then commences the 4,200m ascent to Annapurna Base Camp to help him acclimatise. Next, he heads off to Kathmandu to fulfil a regal engagement at the King's palace during the sacred festival of Desain, and observes the holy men at the Siva shrine of Pashiputanath.
