In April 2004, Ewan McGregor and his best friend Charley Boorman set off on an audacious motorbike voyage from London to New York. Stopping off at various points along the way, they sample the foods and pastimes of different cultures, and demonstrate the rigorous survival training they underwent before departure, as they fend off sinister weather conditions and hostile wild animals.
