Worldwide, more than a billion people live in slums, with as many as one million in Kibera, Africa’s largest such settlement, in the Kenyan capital Nairobi. Slum Survivors, IRIN’s first full-length documentary, tells some of their stories and charts their remarkable courage in the face of extreme poverty.

Slum Survivors is a close up documentary which follows the life of 4 different people, all living in poverty and under conditions unthinkable for most of us.
