On November the 5th, 1605, Guy Fawkes tried to assassinate King James I of England by blowing up the House of Lords. The attempt failed however and Guy Fawkes got sentenced to death with 7 other conspirators.
The question is, was the gunpowder that Fawkes had (36 barrels) enough to destroy the building? In 'The Gunpowder Plot: Exploding the legend', Richard Hammond reconstructs the explosion which would have happened if the plan didn't fail. Is the gunpowder powerful enough?
