RiversideTV, the City of Riverside’s television production studio, has crafted a poignant documentary commemorating the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks while honoring the brave members of Riverside’s Urban Search & Rescue CA Task Force 6 (CA TF6). This dedicated team played a crucial role in the search and rescue efforts in New York City immediately following the tragedy.

Through a blend of rare interviews, archival footage, and never-before-seen photographs, members of CA TF6 share their deeply personal and emotionally charged memories of serving on “The Pile” in the aftermath of the unimaginable devastation.

The documentary provides a glimpse into the harrowing experiences faced by team members as they navigated uncertainty, worry, and anxiety while tirelessly working to locate survivors amidst the rubble. It also highlights the overwhelming support and gratitude they received from the Riverside community upon their return from the 11-day mission.

As one of only 28 FEMA Urban Search & Rescue Teams in the country, sponsored by the Riverside City Fire Department since 1992, CA TF6’s commitment to service and sacrifice is a testament to the resilience and unity of communities in times of crisis.
