“Someone Like Me” documents the intertwined paths of Drake, a gay asylum seeker from Uganda, and a diverse group from Vancouver’s queer community, united in their mission to aid Drake’s resettlement in Canada. Over the course of a year, they navigate the complexities of seeking personal freedom, shedding light on the challenges faced in a world where the struggle for existence is a constant battle.
